Motivation - Or at least some loss of frustration

Do it, no matter how insignificant it seems
Today I checked my stats of the blog and just blinked my eyes because I had some increased of views in the last two days. Normally I fell back to just a small dripple (no wonder because I don't post as much as last month) but on the weekend I was added to another bloglist: The Blogs of War. Don't know who runs this blog but thanks for adding me :)

That brings me to another point: I really was a winner in Mr. Lees 100k view contest. And since I placed second I was lucky to get the miniature I wanted, the Scibor moscal hero. I hope I can find the time to give this miniature some love and paint it the best I can.

And the next thing: As you may have read I procrastinate and rather drive my new bike than painting BUT this has a major impact on my (caution Buzzword alarm) work-life-balance. Since my wife and I cycle together we spend much more time with another. Pretty cool. And watching some of the MTB stuff (especially the following video) I feel like I can fight dragons or climbing mountains.

As sidewin I found a nice band which has some pretty cool songs I think. They have done the original song of the above video and are called Awolnation. If you have a chance watch this playlist on Youtube for some of their official videos.

Which also leads to me being somewhat more motivated to spend some time on the laptop cushion painting table. Since the colder time of the year slowly hits us (today we already have the possibility for snow here!), hobby time is much more acceptable than in the summer time. I again asked my friend Labschi if we could do a bit more hobby stuff and since he now has an airbrush and also lots of miniatures flying around in various packages I think we will do some painting sessions.

I also have a vary eye on the new dark elves which will come on octobre (if the rumours are true). Lots of new miniatures and a new army concept as it seems. Don't know if I will follow this trend because I don't want to spend again hundreds of euros in new miniatures. But we will see.
Last week my Sedition Wars paket 2 and my Mantic KoW Wave 3 paket arrived. Sadly something seems to be amiss on my Mantic stuff. Have to mail the guys what went wrong here. Should've been the ogre package but with only one half ogre something must have went completely wrong while packaging.

That's it for now.

So long,
Paradox0n

  1. It's always nice when someone puts you up on their blogroll. It's one of those nice ways we have of helping each other out in this community.

    Congrats on your win!!

    1. Thanks! Same to you. The dwarf was second on my list :)
And jeah, getting on bloglists seems to be rather important if you aren't connected otherwise (e.g. via forums). Pretty difficult getting noticed and drawing regular readers to the blog.

  2. Good for you to get on Blogs of War. I seem to have bad luck or presentation, I almost always get ignored by blog lists. Happy painting.

    1. Something I learned in this year of blogging: Be patient, don't expect anything but be happy if good things happen. I personally see this blog as language exercise and a bit of "motivation" for not letting the hobby completely die :)
But I also get ignored by some lists I applied to, even though I match their criteria. Just ignore it and go on with your stuff.
